I hate to break it to you but it is possible and it does exist. But if one of the believers is gay, is he really Christian? How can you answer this question any other way than yes.

Instead of calling himself gay, I think he should rather identify himself as a Christian who struggles with homosexuality.
We are all new creations, justified and sanctified in Christ. So we are holy, reborn & a new creation, saints of the Most High and adopted children of God.
As a result, I wouldn't call myself an adulterer, but rather a Christian who struggles with adultery. Notice the difference?
I am not a liar, but a holy saint (in Christ) who struggles with lying.
I am not an idolator, but a reborn disciple of Christ who struggles with idolatry.
I am not a homosexual, but a transformed child of God who struggles with homosexuality.
